 Breaking News......

After an extensive and exhaustive process of Talent Search sessions involving over 200 young people throughout the SE in Lisburn, Bangor, Ards, Newcastle and Downpatrick, two Sport South East squads in Racquets Sports and Boys' Hockey were finally chosen.

The Boys' Hockey Squad began its first of 10 sessions on Sunday, January 25th at Lough Moss Leisure Centre from 12 Noon to 2pm with the 20 selectied boys attending.

The Racquets Squad's first of 10 sessions began on Feb 13th at Bangor Castle Leisure Centre from 7-9 pm with 14 boys and girls attending.

Letters had been sent out to all primary schools and post primary schools within the SEELB area, as well as sports clubs, requesting nominations to participate in a Racquet Sports and Boys Hockey Talent Search. We were looking for Boys and Girls aged 9-12 years old to perform a series of tests designed to measure their levels of agility, coordination, strength and endurance to determine their potential to play Racquet Sports. Likewise, we were looking for Boys aged 9-12 years of age to perform similar tests to determine their potential to play Hockey.

The standard of athletic ability demonstrated at all the sessions was very high and we would like to thank all the young people who attended the sessions and would encourage them to try out at future Talent Searches that will be organised in the future involving a variety of sports.

Two competitive opportunities have also been organised with the Southern Sports Partnership. Our Boys' Hockey Squad will demonstrate their skills at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club on April 22nd from 7-9pm and our Racquet Sports Squad will demonstrate their skills at the Lisburn Racquets Club on April 24th, again from 7-9pm.
